Fire officers helpless as Circle Goil inferno spreads

Fire officers deployed to the Kwame Nkrumah circle are standing helpless as the inferno at the Goil filling station continues to blaze.

Starr News reporter Asabea Akonor said fire tenders with sensors under them are unable to move any closer to the fire.

The fire which started from the filling station has now spread to a building with hundreds of occupants trapped in it.

The capital city Accra has flooded as a result of torrential rains.

Communications minister, Edward Omane Boamah who addressed the nation via Starr 103.5FM has asked the citizenry who are in affected areas to remain calm and contact national security officers for assistance if needed.
