Circle Fire: One rescued in critical condition

One person has been rescued in an almost unconscious state in the fire that is spreading across several buildings at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra.

The fire which started from the Goil filling station near the GCB Towers, has spread to about five residential buildings and has set several cars parked in that area ablaze.

The fire service team deployed to the disaster site is finding it difficult to contain the spread, Starr News reporter Asabea Akonor has reported.

Torrential rains have flooded most parts of Accra causing heavy vehicular traffic on major streets.

Meanwhile, government has put out some emergency lines for individuals who are trapped to call for help.

Communications minister, Edward Omane Boama who addressed the nation via Starr 103.5FM has asked the citizenry who are in affected areas to remain calm and contact national security officers on the numbers – 0299005011, 0299005084, 0299005086, 0299500009 -for assistance.
