Youth cautioned against taking blood covenant

A Catholic Priest has cautioned the youth against taking blood covenant, an occultist practice to vouch for fidelity among lovers, currently gaining root among the youth.

Rev. Fr. Jacob Tardie Adomako, Parish Priest of Juaso Catholic Parish in the Asante-Akim South District, gave the caution when presenting a paper on “Witchcraft and Curses” among contemporary Christians at the first Synod of the Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong.

The Synod is underway at the Spiritan University College at Ejisu.

He indicated that such acts had resulted in a lot of spiritual, emotional, social and physical challenges causing marriage instability, madness and even the death of some youth in extreme cases.

Rev Fr Adomako stressed that such acts, which did not actually show true love, should be seen as barbaric and evil and must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians to save the youth from the menace.

The Rev. Father, appealed to religious leaders and parents to educate the youth about the consequences of dabbling in such practices.
