ECG defaulters appears in Court

A Half-Assini Magistrates’ Court in Western Region on Tuesday awarded GHC 300 cost against five Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) customers who appeared before it for defaulting in the payment of their electricity bills.

They are part of the first 10 defaulting customers in the area arraigned before the Court by the Company, over their outstanding Electricity bills.

The Court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu, gave them a week ultimatum to pay their outstanding bills or face action after they had admitted liability to the Claim.

The Half-Assini ECG is instituting legal action against 48 of its customers to recover a total of GHC 60,000 being outstanding electricity bills.
