Pastor shoots himself

The Hwidiem town in the Brong Ahafo region has been thrown into a state of mourning after the catechist of the Presbyterian Church in the area shot and killed himself.

It is unclear why the 56-year-old Alexander Asare committed suicide on Thursday.

Neighbors who heard the gunshots broke into Mr. Asare’s room and rushed him to the hospital where he died.

Confirming the incident to Starr News, the police officer in charge of the case ASP Kweku Broni said the police have been to the crime scene and investigations have commenced into the matter.
