Irate NDC youth chase out MCE

Tension is mounting in the Evalue Gwira Ajomoro constituency in the Western region following threats by some National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency members to attack their chairman.

The constituency members are accusing the chairman, Charles Kwaw Agyei, of incompetence and shirking his responsibilities. The police have heightened security in the constituency after the incensed members deflated the tyres of the chairman’s pick-up vehicle and threatened to kill him.

The Police have arrested the constituency organiser Joseph Kwesi Kyei, Samuel Ackah and Kwesi Nzema – all constituency executive members – over the issue. They have since been granted bail.

According to Starr News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, some irate youth chased out the Municipal Chief Executive of Nzema East, James Baiden, when he went to the constituency to restore calm.

He said the angry youth believe the MCE is on the side of the beleaguered chairman.
