Taxi driver arrested over stolen vehicle

Samuel Darko, a popular taxi driver in Suhum, known as “50, 50”, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a KIA Reo car, which got missing in Accra.

The Suhum Police told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the case had been transferred to the Madina Police Station where it was first reported for further investigations.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Abubakar Osabutey, a sprayer in Suhum, said Darko brought the car to him two weeks ago to change the colour of the car into that of a commercial vehicle.

She said while he was getting the colours for the job ready, Darko came for the car on May 16 and brought it back after two days.

However, the following day, a joint Police team from Madina and Suhum, with the owner of the car, came to the workshop to arrest Darko.
