Akatsi-North Assembly donates relief items to rainstorm victims

The Akatsi-North District Assembly has donated relief items, including 37 packets of roofing sheets, worth Gh¢14,000.00 to last Monday’s rainstorm victims at Ave-Dzalele and Ave-Kpeduhoe.

A television set, fridge and gas burner, were among the package, to replace those lost by two teachers in the communities.

The storm which lasted for about an hour, destroyed 37 houses and rendered 97 people homeless.

Mr James Gunu, District Chief Executive (DCE) said, the Assembly decided to replace some items lost by the two teachers, because of their valuable services to the community.

He urged the people to grow trees as wind breaks, take building permits, seek professional building information and avoid bush fires.

Mr Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, assured the people of his continuous support.

Togbe Kwame Dogli, Paramount Chief of the Ave-Dzalele Traditional Area, lauded the timely response of the Assembly and the MP.
