The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World Service would on Wednesday launch an interactive radio and online programme dubbed African live to its audience all over the globe from Ghana’s capital.
The programme, to be aired every Wednesday at 1630 hours and 1830 hours, would bring together many people from Africa to discuss various issues ranging from mental health, alcohol abuse and homosexuality to education.
The launch to be jointly hosted by Joy FM’s presenter Adwoa Aidoo and Paul Bakibinga, A BBC Reporter, would focus on military coups and is expected to coincide with June 4, the day that used to commemorate the June 4 Uprising.
Mr Neil Curry, Senior Editor of BBC World Service, told a press conference in Accra on Tuesday that the programme would link listeners through e-mails and phone calls, adding that it was the ultimate in communication as Africans unite to have their say.
Miss Vera Kwakofi, a BBC Reporter of the African Service, said the programme would offer a true picture of various events in Africa including the refugee situation and conflicts.
