Akufo-Addo: Gnassingbe should strengthen Ghana – Togo ties

The presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo has called on Togo leader Faure Gnassingbe to “strengthen ties” with Ghana.

In a message to congratulate the re-elected president, the NPP flagbearer also called on the son of late president Eyadema to “use his high office to hasten the process of regional integration.”

He said: “This is to extend warm congratulations to His Excellency President Faure Gnassingbé on his re-election as President of the Republic of Togo.

“The decisive nature of his victory, which has subsequently been confirmed by the Constitutional Court of Togo, reinforces the hopes and beliefs of the Togolese people that the path of democracy is the surest way of achieving development, prosperity and progress for their country.”

“I wish President Faure Gnassingbe well, and respectfully urge him to strengthen further the ties that exist between our two nations, as well as use his high office to hasten the process of regional integration,” Nana Addo added.
