UCF on institute of economic affairs

THE GENERAL SECRETARY
NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS
HEADQUARTERS
ADABRAKA – ACCRA

Dear Sir,

SUPPORT FOR BOYCOTT OF PROGRAMMES/ACTIVITIES
OF THE INSTITUTE OF ECONMIC AFFAIRS (IEA)

The United Cadres’ Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is lending our support to you the General Secretary and to the Party to consider withdrawing the Party’s participation in the programmes/activities of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) henceforth.

We have a firm belief that this intended action is rather long over-due but better late than never. For some time now we have had cause to issue several press releases complaining the biased posture of the IEA on the NDC and its administration in government.

One of our earlier concerns was on the Institute’s sudden realization of the so-called “WINNER-TAKES-ALL” or the “POLITICS OF EXCLUSIVITY” of being a political ‘evil’ that must be exorcised.

Its unhidden hostilities – the last being the barrage of insinuations that characterized its latest programme where Prof. Kwesi Yankah was unleashed on the Party and government leaves much to be desired and the time is now for total boycott.
It was even worse when a religious cleric showed his open bias when you attempted an intervention as it was time for that, and whereas others were granted the opportunity – you were effectively prevented from doing so by Most Rt. Rev. Bishop Palma Buckle

We stand by you and the Party as you consult stake-holders that programmes and general activities of the Institute of Economic Affairs must be TERMINATED by the Party – and NOW.

Thanking you in advance for considering our unchangeable position.
Comradely regards,
Signed
Efanam Nyaku Felix (May 6, 2015)
