Black out was from Cote d’Ivoire

The power outage experienced in the country on Wednesday, the second in one week, was due to loss of generation from Cote d’Ivoire, Mrs Ellen Essilfie, Public Affairs Director of the Volta River Authority (VRA), said on Thursday.

Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire share power.

Speaking to the GNA in an interview, Mrs Essilfie said the cause of the outage was similar to that experienced on May 21 when power was cut for 45 minutes at different times throughout the country.

Mrs Essilfie said experts were meeting to find a solution to the problem in Ghana if it should occur again.
