‘We’ll use May Day to vent against ‘Dumsor’ – Labour

Ghanaian workers are today joining their colleagues across the globe to mark May Day.

Organized labour has hinted that it will use the May Day parade to protest government’s handling of the power crisis as thousands of workers are sent home by their employers.

It is also pushing for higher wages and better conditions of service to cushion workers.

General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union of the Organised Labour Solom Kotei told Starr News government must do all it can to fix the energy crisis as soon as possible.

In reaction, the Head of Public Affairs of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Earl Ankrah said the demand for better service conditions must be justified with a plan for increased productivity.
