Oguaa AIDS Awareness Club in Clean-Up Exercise

Members oF the Oguaa AIDS Awareness Club in the Aboom Wells suburb of Cape Coast embarked on a three and a half hour clean-up campaign in the suburb as part of the club’s HIV/AIDS awareness programme.

About 52 members of the association desilted choked gutters, swept the road-sides and finally gathered at the main rubbish dump site to weed the surroundings and burn the piled-up rubbish.

In his address, Mr. Eric Obeng, chairman of the club stated that since cleanliness is next to godliness, it is the aim of the club to assist in avoiding any epidemic and flooding in the suburb this rainy season whilst observing strict awareness of the HIV/AIDS within the large community and the municipality.

Mr. Danquah, assemblyman for the area thanked the club for their initiative and maintaining cleanliness in the suburb.

The club, the first of its kind in Cape Coast, appealed to institutions, companies and philanthropists to assist it in kind.
