Police clash with irate Somanya residents

Some angry demonstrators of Somanya in the Eastern region have clashed with the Police over the reported exhumation of the remains of their late Chief.

The family of Nene Ologo Dawutey is accusing a rival faction of secretly taking his remains from the royal mausoleum to an unknown location.

The protestors who hit the streets Wednesday clashed with some Police officers who were deployed to the town to foil the protest.

An angry resident who spoke with Starr News said the Policemen molested them without any provocation.

Another protestor said some of his colleagues sustained injuries during the scuffle with the Police.

The Police are yet to comment on the incident in Somanya.
