Technical Fault At VRA Caused Black Out

The Electricity Company of Ghana has stated that, Wednesday’s nationwide power outage, was unintentional.

The Public Affairs Director of ECG, Madam Gloria Dua-Sakyi said on Peace fm on Thursday that, the blackout which occurred around 5:30 pm and lasted for about 30 minutes was due to a technical problem experienced by the VRA. She said the problem was quickly rectified by the VRA after it was identified, and power was restored in most parts of the country.

Meanwhile the Chief Executive of the VRA Dr Charles Wereko-Brobbey who has now stepped aside for investigations to be conducted into the organization says, he is not surprised at allegations being peddled against him by some workers of the VRA and has therefore called on the ministerial committee of enquiry, to go ahead and invite anybody it believes could provide information to help it do the findings properly.
