‘Agbeko can win a world title before he retires’

National Boxing trainer, Coach Ofori Asare who also doubles as the trainer of former IBF Bantamweight Champion Joseph Agbeko has prophesied that the Ghanaian boxer will win a world title before he retires.

Agbeko, who is at the twilight of his career is set for a warm up fight against Juanito Rubella next month in the United States of America, and a win will aid the former IBF bantamweight champion to get a crack at a world title.

Though the stakes are high for the 35-year-old American-based Ghanaian boxer, trainer Ofori Asare believes Agbeko has the potential to win another world title.

“Why not, he can win another world title, I train him, he is one of the great boxers I have trained and I know that he can win a world title before he retires.

“He is 35 years old but it doesn’t mean he cannot do it, he is gradually picking up the pieces and I believe that he will surprise all of us one of these days,” Coach Asare said.

The coach is set to leave the country to the States ahead of Agbeko’s fight against Juanito Rubella later next month.
