Communities commended for using Easter to plan devt

Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, the Deputy Volta Regional Minster, has commended the communities which used the Easter festivities to unite and mobilise resources for development projects in their areas.

He said Governments could not do developments at the pace expected by the communities, therefore, it was imperative that communities took up the challenge in areas they could handle, to accelerate national advancement.

Mr. Ganyaglo was addressing the Dunenyo-Za of the people of Tadzewu in the Ketu North Distirct, organised to socialise and pool resources to undertake self-help projects in the town.

Self-help projects in education is the focus for the year.

The Minister told the people that with unity and reconciliation, Tadzewu, which is the headquarters of the Apostles’ Revelation Society (ARS), could be transformed into a religious tourist centre to attract even foreign visitors.

Mr. Ganyaglo said all the districts, and for that matter the Region, were having their fair share of the national cake.

Mr. Ganyaglo promised that the town would be provided with potable water and gave the assurance that the firm working on the roads in the town would be made to sit with the chief to identify defects for correction.

Mr. Alex Segbefia, the Health Minister-designate, asked the people of the Ketu North District to select a suitable site for a proposed hospital for the area.

Mr. James Avedzi, the Member of Parliament for the area, said Tadzewu had benefited from two major roads linking the area, a nurses’ quarters, two major projects at Wovenu Senior High School and the town roads project.

Mama Setreakor, Queen of the town, however, appealed for a market, among other benefits.
