Cell break: Two suspects flee from Asiwa Police Station

Two suspects in police custody at the Asiwa Police station at Bekwai in the Ashanti region have reportedly escaped.

Sources have revealed to Starr News that the suspects escaped on Sunday. It is not yet known if the two inmates bolted with any ammunition.

It is also not clear how they also managed to escape from Police custody.

The suspects were arrested for engaging in illegal mining and theft of some excavators.

This comes three days after a similar incident happened at the Tepa Police station in the Ahafo Ano North constituency of the Ashanti region.

The suspects are yet to be arrested.

Seven inmates in Police custody at the Denu Police station in the Volta region also broke cell last month. Five out of the seven inmates have so far been re-arrested.
