Govt, Russia Review Bui Dam Project

Ghana and Russia yesterday held a meeting to discuss the need to revive the Bui Dam project to supplement the nation’s power supply.

The proposed 400 mega watts hydro-electric project is to be located on the Black Volta at Bui in the Wenchi district of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Foreign Minister, disclosed this after joining President Kufuor and the Russian Ambassador to Ghana at a close door meeting at the Castle.

According to him, there was the need to have additional or alternative source of power supply due to the increasing demand for it.
