MP Uses Taxpayers Money To Buy Himself A Tractor

It has now been established that the MP for Lower Manya in the Eastern Region, Mr. Michael Nyaunu, used his district assembly’s money to buy a tractor, registered it in his name and made no accounts of the proceeds from the use of the machine to the assembly.

Mr. Nyaunu, who is representing his constituency in parliament for the second consecutive time, has constructed a market in the name of Manya Krobo District Assembly (MKDA) but painted it brightly in the colours of his political party, the NDC.

His exposure was as a result of investigations conducted by a two-man team set up at the instance of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) last year.

It has been necessitated by the CHRONICLE’s publication captioned “MP entangled in Common Fund net-bought tractor without authority, claims documents are missing”.
