Court remands ‘brother-killer’ into prison custody

A Ho district court on Tuesday remanded into prison custody, George Agbinku, a middle-aged man who was arrested for allegedly murdering his younger brother, Philemon Freeman Agbinku on the dawn of Good Friday at Ho-Ahoe in the Volta region.

The court, presided over by His Worship Robert Addo, has since adjourned the case to Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in order for the docket to be sent to the Attorney General’s office for advice.

George Agbinku is alleged to have hit his brother’s head with a pestle as they both slept in the same room.

The incident, which occurred around 4am on Good Friday, according to the Police, comes on the back of constant quarrels between the two brothers.

Family sources also confirmed to Starr News that both brothers were habitual drunkards who constantly fought each other.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Ho municipal hospital morgue for autopsy.
