Christians urged to accept suffering

The Reverend Daniel Kwasi Ayim, Pastor in charge of Mount Moriah Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Danfa, on Friday asked Christians to accept suffering in their lives just as Christ did.

He said: “Our Lord Jesus Christ accepted and endured suffering in his life,” pointing out that the Bible did not say that Christians would not go through suffering, however, “in our suffering our Lord who has known suffering before will be with us and see that we are victorious even in our suffering”.

Rev Ayim was preaching at a Good Friday service on the theme: “Christ, Our Example in Suffering.”

He noted that the entire life of Jesus was characterised by suffering, recounting, even how he was born in a manger and how because of him many children were killed by Herod.

He said Jesus Christ endured this hardship and difficult situation because of love, noting that there is victory in enduring hardship.

“As Christians how are we able to manage and endure hardship? What is the prove of scripture in our lives?” He asked explaining that all the suffering that happened to Christ also fulfilled what the scripture said in the book of Isaiah.

Rev Ayim admonished Christians to show love, “let us love even those who persecute us”, he said for Christ death also demonstrated love.
