Assembly builds GH¢209,169.00 CHPS compound at Amanfrom

The Asante-Akim South District Assembly is building a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Amanfrom at the cost of GH¢209,169.00 to provide the people with access to quality healthcare.

The facility, which comes with nurses’ accommodation, would serve the health needs of six other communities – Obokro, Atiemo, Nkwanta, Banso, Asuboi and Akuakrom.

It is being funded from the Assembly’s share of the Common Fund.

Mr. De-graft Forkuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE), performing the ceremony to mark the start of work on the project, said they would ensure that it was completed within five months.

He urged the contractors, “Mallam Adam and Company Limited” to work hard not only to meet the deadline but to also make sure that there was value for money.

He reiterated the government’s determination to tackle the health needs of the population, especially those in rural communities.

Mr. Jacob Owusu Osae, the District Works Engineer, gave the assurance that they would closely supervise the project to avoid shoddy job and see to it that contract specifications were met.

Nana Gyekye Amo, the chief of the town, praised the government for the project.
