Man busted for defrauding bank customers of GHC65k

A 49-year-old man has been arrested by the Ashanti regional police command for fraud.

Kwaku Badu is alleged to have defrauded nine customers of some banks, including the Kumasi branch of Unibank of over GhC65,000.

According to some victims who spoke to Starr News’ Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako Justice, the suspect who disguises himself as a staff of the banks dissuades his unsuspecting victims from joining regular queues within the banking halls with a promise of fast tracking their deposits, but bolts after they leave their monies with him.

He was reportedly arrested after several complaints had been filed at the Central Police command in Kumasi.
