I’ll maintain an open door policy – Sports Min-designate

Sports minister-designate Dr. Mustapha Ahmed (MP) has, in his first radio interview, since his nomination by President John Mahama told Henry Asante Twum on Extra Time on Starr FM that he will liaise with the various stakeholders in the sports fraternity to raise funds for lesser known sports in the country.

According to him, it is time the nation paid attention to the other sporting activities that won the country laurels in the past.

“I will like to assure you that I will work with the various stakeholders to explore all the necessary avenues of expanding the frontiers of administration funding for the other sporting activities.

“I think it is wrong for people to describe the other sports as lesser-known because I don’t think there is anything like lesser-known sport,” he explained.

Dr Ahmed also noted that he will maintain an open door policy in order to incorporate other views in his policies and programmes at the ministry.

The dentist is replacing Mahama Ayariga who has been engrossed in massive public controversy following his attacks on the media after the AFCON 2015.
