Mahama is a ‘Kaskala’ president – NPP MP

Member of Parliament (MP) for Wenchi Constituency Professor George Gyan Baffour has described President John Dramani Mahama as a ‘Kaskala car’ leader, who seems impervious to criticism from the opposition.

According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator, the president’s attitude, and by extension that of his appointees, explains why the Minority in Parliament was unusually quiet during the delivery of the State of the Nation’s address on Thursday, February 26.

Prof. Gyan Baffour made these remarks on Wednesday, March 11 while contributing to the debate on the address.

“This is Kaskala car! If you buy it after a year [and] you go to stand in front of the car and if you wind it, it doesn’t wind. If you push it, it doesn’t push so the refrain was that: ‘Wo wind, wind aaa Kaskala.”

He, therefore, advised government to rather have a listening ear in order to get help to finding solutions to the economic challenges.

This seems to corroborate President Mahama’s self-description in Botswana on Tuesday that: “I have a dead goat syndrome”.

Speaking to Ghanaians in Gaborone, President Mahama said having witnessed demonstrations and strikes in his first two years in office, he will not be fazed by any similar threats going into the 2016 elections.

“It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn’t fear the knife because it is dead already.”
