Mahama must resign – Dr. Amoako Baah

John Mahama has been asked to resign his post as President of the Republic to save Ghana from further decline, in the face of the debilitating power crisis, according to Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, Head of Political Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The outspoken lecturer, who was on Fox FM morning show on Monday, said, “we don’t need to be told that we are suffering. Productivity is at an all time low,” adding that resigning was the honorable thing to do.

“In fact, the President should save Ghana from further decline and resign,” he said; adding that no level of explanation regarding the energy situation would suffice at this stage.

He also accused the government of putting the cart before the horse in its attempt to develop the nation without doing well to fix the power situation.

Dr. Richard Amoako Baah also sounded alarm bells that Ghana is broke. He says, “what we are doing with the IMF indicates the country is flat on its belly”.

Meanwhile, Brong Ahafo regional executives of the New Patriotic Party have announced another episode of the ‘Yabre’ demonstration to be held in Techiman on 27th march, 2015. They believe Techiman is a strategic location for the event because it is the boiling pot of political activity in the Brong Ahafo.
