Pro-NDC demo hits snag

The much touted demonstration scheduled for 24th February, 2015 by the organised Youth of Ashanti (OYA), may not happen after all the buzz it has created.

Pro-NDC group Organised Youth of Ashanti was billed to have its “one thousand march for President Mahama” on Tuesday, presumably to counter the effects of the demonstrations against the government’s handling of the power crisis.

The group earlier explained to rawgist.com the demonstration was intended to highlight the achievements of the President that many seem to be oblivious of, due to the energy situation. “It is to lead Ghanaians in counting their blessings instead of focusing on the negative.”

Information available to rawgist.com is that the demonstration has been postponed to a yet to be determined future date.

The group, Organised Youth of Ashanti, is expected to hold a press conference on Tuesday to explain their decision and state the way forward as far as their march is concerned.

The group’s quest to demonstrate on Tuesday clashed with an earlier date set by an opposition group; Movement for Change; a situation many feared could lead to violence.
