Class six pupil dies after committing abortion

A 14-year–old girl has died after attempting to commit abortion in the Shama district of the Western region.

Yaa Antwiaa, a class six pupil of the Inchaban Catholic primary school was believed to be carrying a five-month old pregnancy, Starr News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan has reported.

The deceased, according to family sources, was impregnated by a colleague 16-year-old pupil of the same school.

A member of her family who confirmed the story to Ohene Gyan said the boy is suspected to have administered the abortion drug which killed the juvenile.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Effiah Nkwanta Government Hospital after doctors there confirmed she had attempted to commit abortion.

The suspect who has been declared wanted by the Police, is on the run.
