Detectives in India are holding a Ghanaian for carrying about 160 grams of cocaine in a hotel in Chennai.

Sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau said Kwame Ebenezer is part of a multi-city drug trafficking network busted Wednesday.

The Bureau boss Prem Anand Sinha said in a statement that Ebenezer was arrested upon a tip-off.

According to him, their preliminary investigations show that the Ghana national “used to sell cocaine in various parts of Chennai in small quantities.”

The seizure revealed foreign national traffickers were in drug trafficking trade and active in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai, he said.

“Enquiries are being conducted with the arrested person to find more about the drug trafficking network,” the statement added.
