Wontumi wild over postponed Ashanti Region demo

Upon hearing news that the second edition of the Won Gbo demo has been postponed, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party has expressed dismay at the way events has turned out.

The second edition of the mammoth demonstration which was witnessed in Accra has been scheduled to take place on 24th February, 2015 in the Ashanti Region; but latest news in indicate that a senior member of the NPP has conferred with the Ghana Police Service to move it to a day after.

Dr. Nsiah Asare, former CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and a staunch member of the NPP is believed to be the one behind the latest development. In an interview with Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiko, he revealed to Peacefmonline.com that the “Police PRO called to inform him that the demonstration can’t come on as planned”.

“The reason they gave to me was that they met with Dr. Nsiah Asare and he agreed with them to allow the NDC hold their demonstration before ours”, he added.
