Integrity of Ghanaian judges questioned

The Chief Executive Officer of Silver Star Auto Limited, Kalmoni Nouhad, has expressed concerns with the “quality” of judges in Ghana.

According to him, the “decision makers in Ghana’s judiciary” are susceptible to inducements.

Kalmoni made the comments after an Accra High court Thursday ruled on a car dispute between the automobile company and a client. He was charged with contempt by the court for not replacing a defective vehicle for a customer.

Speaking exclusively to Starr News after the ruling, the Silver Star boss said the decisions of some justices in Ghana’s courts are questionable.

“The process is good, you have the court structure like in many places, it’s the quality of the decision makers that are sitting in these courts and how easily they can be influenced; in my opinion that is one of the unfortunate situations that we have to deal with in this country,” he said.
