Amity Foundation donates to Akropong School for the Blind

Members of Amity Foundation, a benevolent society, has presented a 1,000-liter poly water tank mounted on a stand valued at GH¢ 5,000.00 to the Akropong School for the Blind.

Presenting the poly tank on behalf of the members of the society the National President of the Foundation, Mr Eric Manukure, said the presentation formed part of the activities marking the fifth anniversary of the Foundation.

He said the Foundation had also presented computers and printers to the Mamfi Presbyterian Junior High School and also set up a committee to determine schools in the Akuapem Area that should benefit from large stock of library books which the Foundation had acquired.

Ms Sylvia Laryea, a member of the Welfare Committee of the Foundation, said as part of the fifth year celebration of the Foundation, the members planned to hold a church service and to organize a fund raising dinner dance to support the needy and deprived.

Receiving the water tank Mr Joseph Atsu, Assistant the Headmaster of the School, said the school is a public school sponsored by the state but the state could not provide all the needs of the school hence the need for individuals and organizations to support the school.
