PSGH to support Ministry of Health

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) says it would encourage its members to solicit and donate cash to procure essential medicines to support the Ministry of Health.

This follows the burning down of the Central Medical Stores on Tuesday January 13, in which all the stored drugs and medical and non-medical consumables were lost.

A statement signed by Mr James Ohemeng Kyei, President of the PSGH, called for the engagement of Ghana National Fire Service and other relevant regulatory agencies to help in outlining procedures of the proper warehousing of medicines and medical /non-medical consumables to reduce the impact of any potential fire outbreak in warehouses.

The PSGH also called on the Ministry of Health to take immediate steps to ensure that all its storage facilities, agencies and institutions are properly assessed and equipped with fire safety gadgets.
