Sex workers ‘detain’ journalists in Kumasi

Two journalists working with Kumasi based Otec FM were Friday morning held by alleged sex workers at Adum, a suburb of Kumasi, in the Ashanti region.

The reporters had gone to the popular base to file a report on the activities of the night workers when luck eluded them.

Speaking to Starr News’ Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice, one of the detained reporters said the sex workers made attempts to sleep with them.

“We were there to only file a report and do some interviews but they detained us and tried to sleep with us.”

He added: “They kept us in a room full of condoms, panties, vibrators and cigarettes, and we had to beg our way out.”

He said the sex workers ceased their phones and also collected their monies, but still kept them in the room for more than an hour before releasing them.
