WAEC cautions public of fraudsters

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has asked members of the public to be wary of the activities of certain persons introducing themselves as staff of the Council and claiming to have access to the results database.

A statement signed by Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Principal Public Affairs Officer of WAEC, said the fraudsters contacted candidates with the promise of bettering their results for a fee and demand that payment be made using mobile money transfer.

The Council wishes to caution members of the public to be wary of such fraudsters and report their activities to the police.

In addition, the Council assured the public that it has ample security in place to protect the integrity of results on its database.

The statement said all results issued by the Council could be verified by scanning the QR code on the results printed online from www.waecgh.org or by the verification service available to institutions and organisations.
