NGO holds health education campaign

Hope 4 the Special People Foundation, is undertaking an awareness campaign to the people of Chorkor in Greater Accra, to educate members of the community on the HIV and AIDS, Ebola and cholera infections.

The exercise is being done in collaboration with Just Care, local NGOs with support from the Ghana AIDS Commission, Ghana Health Service and Health Club.

The President and Founder of Hope 4 the Special People Foundation, Elliot Emmanuel Agripah told journalists that the campaign was part of the responsibilities of the Foundation to help spread awareness on AIDS, Ebola and the cholera outbreak and how individuals could prevent themselves from contracting the diseases.

The five- hour long campaign covered areas like Chorkor Lante Maame, Chemuenaa and Shalom Shalom.

About 1,500 people who were reached at the end of the campaign were provided with condoms, posters, flyers and wrist bands and other educational materials.

The Community Leader, Togbi Ege on behalf of the people expressed appreciation for the effort put in by the groups and asked for more of such interventions
