Public cautioned against use of faulty electrical gadgets

Nana Addo Tetebo, Eastern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, has cautioned members of the public against using faulty electrical gadgets and urged them to use certified professionals to wire their properties.

He said during this time of the year, the dry atmosphere made it easy for the slightest spark of fire from faulty gadgets to burst into flames which could burn down properties.

Nana Addo, therefore, advised the public to be concerned about their gadgets and wiring of their houses, stores and other properties and frequently change all damaged gadgets to avoid fire disasters.

He advised the public to always employ the services of qualified practitioners certified by the Electricity Company of Ghana and the Ghana Energy Commission that know the quality of materials to use for a particular job.

Nana Addo advised all electricians to join the association and be recognised through the acquisition of license and urged them to be professional in their work to curtail fires caused by bad wiring and faulty gadgets.
