Minority is being hypocritical in loan abuse claims – Gov’t

Government has lashed out at the minority over allegations that it has failed to account for some loans.

The minority, at a press conference Thursday accused government of misusing loans taken for developmental projects.

It has also cast doubts over government’s growth projections for this year.

But in response, a Deputy Communications minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu told Starr News the minority’s claims are false.

“The minority failed to recognise the fact that as parliamentarians, they have every information on every single project that the money we have borrowed have been used to finance.

“Whenever government goes for a loan, Parliament approves it, every Member of Parliament is given details of the loan involved.

“It is therefore false for any member of parliament to claim that he or she is unaware of the things government is doing with the monies we have borrowed so far,” he noted.
