MTTD to clamp down on motorists with 2014 DV plates

Motorists who are caught using 2014 DV plates after Friday, January 9, would be prosecuted.

An extension of the use of last year’s number plates by owners of unregistered vehicles expires tomorrow.

The Motto Traffic and Transport Department of the Police Service have stated that unregistered vehicles must have the 2015 DV plates or face the full rigours of the law.

DSP Alexander Obeng, the Director of Education and Research at the MTTD, warned that motorists without the 2015 DV must park their vehicles or risk being seized.

“The opportunity that was given is ending Friday and beyond that we want to see only DV and DP plates that are meant for 2015,” DSP Obeng said.
