Kufuor developed Ghana with loans – Mahama

President John Mahama has observed that his immediate predecessor, John Kufuor, used the loans he took during his tenure to develop the nation.

The President made the comments in an effort to justify his government’s acquisition of loans.

The NDC government is often criticised by the opposition parties for taking too many loans.

But in an interview with Kumasi based Angel FM, Wednesday, the President urged his critics to contact parliament if they are interested in finding out what his government has been using the loans for.

“Every single loan we have taken was approved by parliament. Every single one of them is perused by parliament.

“If there are projects to do and there is no money, we need to go outside and borrow to do them.

“Today, the gas is flowing from Atuabo, it’s not Mahama’s property; it’s for Ghanaians.

“During President Kufuor’s time, he took loans to develop the nation, he didn’t spend the money,” the President stated.
