The Bibiani-Ahwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly would from 2015 rollout programmes and activities to intensify the development of the area.

Under it, the assembly would privatize its waste management, especially the toilet facilities and use the proceeds to embark on development in the central market and other social areas, Mr Jacob Ware, District Chief Executive (DCE) told Ghana News Agency in an interview in Takoradi.

Other priority areas are environmental issues where the people would be mobilised to undertake communal labour aside the national sanitation days, as well as the intensification of revenue mobilisation.

Mr Ware said the District Security Committee would also wage war on armed robbery that is on the ascendancy.

He commended the district police for working hard to combat crime in the area.

The DCE, however, appealed to the people to honour their civic responsibilities by paying their basic rates, fees and levies, to support the assembly raise funds for development.

Mr Ware advised the people to lead responsible lives and enter the New Year with good intentions, constructive suggestions and contributions for the progress of the assembly and the area.
