Farmer remanded for defilement

Roland Anne, a farmer from Amamfrom near Nsawam, has been remanded into prison custody to reappear on December 30, for defiling a three year- old girl.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Alex Cosmos told the Nsawam Circuit Court Presided over by Mr Kwame Amoako that, on October 4, the accused was left in the house to take care of the victim.

He said, the accused took advantage of the absence of the victim’s mother and lured her into his room and had sex with her.

The prosecutors said, on October 5, at about 2.00 pm, the victim started bleeding and informed the mother that during her absence , the accused had sex with her.

In another development, Philip Botwe, an unemployed , 35, was also remanded by the same court for defiling a nine -year old primary four pupil staying at Nsawam Wofapa Ye with the parents .

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Cosmos said, on December 1, the victim returned from school and after finishing her work in the house, she followed some friends to a drinking spot at Abaase.

The Prosecutor said, the accused on seeing the victim and the friends bought some roasted meat for them and gave the nine year old girl GH ?40.00 and some sweets to share with the friends and then stopped a taxi, lured the girl into it and drove to Dobro near Nsawam and spent the night with her in an uncompleted building.

He said, the girl was rescued by a Policeman, Inspector Tawiah who was on duty in the area and arrested the accused to Nsawam Police Station.

The prosecutor said, medical report indicated that the girl had been defiled.
