Sam George served with defamation suit

Presidential staffer Sam George Nartey has finally been served with a Ghc100 million writ filed at the Fast Track High by Former Executive Chairman of Databank Ghana Limited Ken Ofori-Atta.

The writ was filed after the co-founder of the indigenous bank felt slighted by allegations of Sam George on Radio Gold, an Accra-based radio station.

Network Broadcasting Limited, owners of the radio station, have, therefore, been sued as well by Mr Ofori-Atta.

There were earlier reports that the presidential staffer was evading to be served the writ, but TV3 can confirm (as pictured above) that the bailiff has delivered the writ to Sam George.

He is expected to open defence next week.

Sam George, also an outspoken member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is said to have alleged that Mr Ofori-Atta evaded taxes during his tenure at Databank Limited and was also involved in fraudulent transactions during the New Patriotic Party era and, therefore, had no moral right to talk about corruption.
