5 babies delivered on Christmas Day at Nkawkaw

Five babies were delivered at the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital on Christmas Day.

The babies were four males and a female and were delivered normally but one of the males was still born.

The Principal Nursing Officer (PNO) in-charge of the Maternity Ward, Mrs Mary Ansong Peprah, advised pregnant women to attend antenatal clinics regularly and report any sickness or changes in their lives to the nearest health facility for examination and treatment to avoid complications during delivery.

She also advised the pregnant women not to delay at home when in labour but should rush to the nearest health facility to ensure safe delivery, for the county to achieve the Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 next year where maternal deaths are expected to be reduced by 75 percent.
