Kumasi-based radio station, Fox FM, has held the “Festival of nine lessons and carols night” to herald the Christmas festivities.
The event was under the theme, “Humanity is priceless in the eyes of God” and attracted large crowd of dignitaries and choir groups from churches in the Kumasi metropolis.
Mr Samson Ohene- Asante, the General Manager, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that the programme was yet another form of entertainment to add to the joy of Yuletide.
It was also meant to draw the attention of the people to the significant occasion of Christ’s birth.
Mr. Ohene-Asante said their goal was to make their programmes more public-oriented to increase the local content to aid development of the community and the nation at large.
The Reverend Father Paul Kwaku Davor, Director of Pope John Paul II Formation Centre at Ofoase-Kokoben, reminded the people to mirror Christ-like qualities of love, discipline, humility and modesty.
He added that both male and female were at the pinnacle of creation, and that neither sex should be exalted nor depreciated.
The Rev. Davor advised them to set goals that would reflect righteousness in the coming year.
