Mass Burial

The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Mortuary is currently full beyond the official capacity.

A statement issued by the hospital said “there are more than 400 unclaimed and unidentified bodies in a morgue that has the capacity to take care of 250 bodies.

“The hospital is, therefore, liaising with the Accra Metro Health Department of the AMA to organize a mass burial of bodies that remain unclaimed for more than 28 days,” it stated.

The statement said the next mass burial was set for April 4.

Meanwhile, the hospital has appealed to relations who have not as yet claimed their bodies to do so by Friday, April 4.
