Sam George: Akufo-Addo has benefitted from drug barons…

A member of the governing National Democratic Congress [NDC] Sam George Nettey has stated categorically that, the New Patriotic Party [NPP] flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is possibly the only Presidential Candidate who has benefitted from illicit drug proceeds since 1992.

According to him, the NPP leader has been a major recipient of drug money over the years and still living on that “evil money” for his campaign; and pointed fingers at the opposition party as the source of his assertions.

“Nana Addo, possibly since 1992 till date, receives funding from drug barons for his campaign and it is clear. We all known about that,” he alleged.

Justifying his claims, the NDC activist stated that David Kwadwo Anim, the owner of Le Baron Hotel at East Legon in Accra, who was busted at the Heathrow Airport in London for alleged drug trafficking and money laundering a couple of months ago, has been a chief financier of Nana Addo’s campaign until his arrest.

“That man [Le Baron] bought motorbikes for the NPP’s campaign (claims Kennedy Agyapong) and supported him massively with his financial resources. There are so many of them I don’t want to go into,” he stated.

Speaking on Adom FM, Sam George dismissed suggestions by the NPP that, Alhaji Mohammed Alamid Dawood, who is alleged to have aided Nayele Ametefeh, the woman busted for smuggling 12.5 kilos of cocaine to the United Kingdom, is a member of the ruling party.

“Dawood is not a member of the NDC. Again he did not found the Zongo for Mahama group as alleged by NPP. If the NPP want us to go on that path with accusations, we will reveal all their drug kingpins,” he warned.
