The Ministry of Interior and the Ghana Police Service cannot account for various donations made into the Police Endowment Fund (PEF), neither can they explain what the donations have been used for, so far.
The fund, which was launched by the former Minister of Interior, Alhaji Malik Alhassan Yakubu, in September 2001, was meant to solicit funds from the public, and to assist the police in logistical problems.
